Hierarchical algorithm for KNN query in spatial network

چکیده

This paper proposes a new algorithm for finding K-nearest neighbors in large spatial networks. It employs a strategy of processing a network hierarchically. The new strategy is based on the CCAM algorithm for spatial network representation, the hierarchical approach for shortest path search and the INE algorithm for KNN search. It overcomes the problems of existing approaches: either the storage cost or the computational cost is too expensive. Our algorithm shows its potential application in large spatial networks with the requirement of real time response. A real spatial network data set, CA, will be used to compare the performance of the proposed algorithm with a Dijkstra-based approach and a pre-compute-based approach, measuring of storage cost and computational cost.

eDAR Algorithm for Continuous KNN Queries Based on Pine

AbstrAct The continuous K nearest neighbor (CKNN) query is an important type of query that finds continuously the KNN to a query point on a given path. We focus on moving queries issued on stationary objects in Spatial Network Database (SNDB) The result of this type of query is a set of intervals (defined by split points) and their corresponding KNNs. This means that the KNN of an object travel...

Spatial Queries in Road Networks Based on PINE

Over the last decade, due to the rapid developments in information technology (IT), a new breed of information systems has appeared such as geographic information systems that introduced new challenges for researchers, developers and users. One of its applications is the car navigation system, which allows drivers to receive navigation instructions without taking their eyes off the road. Using ...

A Safe Exit Algorithm for Moving k Nearest Neighbor Queries in Directed and Dynamic Spatial Networks

The process of moving k nearest neighbor (MkNN) queries has been studied extensively in spatial network databases. Existing state-of-the-art algorithms have focused primarily on handling MkNN queries in undirected and static spatial networks where every edge is undirected and its weight does not change over time. However, little attention has been paid to MkNN queries in directed and dynamic sp...

Spatial Queries with Two kNN Predicates

The widespread use of location-aware devices has led to countless location-based services in which a user query can be arbitrarily complex, i.e., one that embeds multiple spatial selection and join predicates. Amongst these predicates, the k-Nearest-Neighbor (kNN) predicate stands as one of the most important and widely used predicates. Unlike related research, this paper goes beyond the optimi...
